To Unhitch up the trailer from your tow vehicle follow these steps
- Park the towing vehicle and trailer in a straight line on firm, level ground (assumes you already have the trailer level)
- Place wheel chocks on the trailer tires on both sides
- Unhook safety chains, 7pin electrical connector and break away cable from the tow vehicle
- Raise the trailer and tow vehicle with the trailer jack to ease the tension on the spring bar chains
- Place the excess chain over top of the rotating latch’s on both sides.
- While holding the wrench firmly, release the locking pin handle on the latch by rotating or pulling out on it. Rotate the latch clockwise until the chain is released from the latch. Do this on both sides of the trailer
Warning The latch will rotate quickly when the locking pin is released. Ensure you have control of the wrench when releasing to avoid personal injury - Remove both weight distribution bars from the hitch turrets by pulling up on the locking pins
- Lower the trailer and tow vehicle back down with the trailer jack to relive pressure on the ball
- Remove the latch pin and pull back and unlock the latch on the coupler
- Raise the trailer back up until the ball disengages from the trailer hitch and is high enough to clear the ball
- Move the tow vehicle forward and out of the way
- Level the trailer front to rear
- Set down the front and rear stabilizers
Warning, the stabilizer are not designed to lift the trailer. Stop extending as soon as they indicate fully extended position
